Research shows that selfless love makes us happy

Selfless love stems from deep compassion and desire for someone else’s happiness.  It activates the same reward part of the brain as cocaine.  This kind of love also deactivates the parts of the brain that cause us to think about ourselves.  This shows that humans have an innate ability to truly put others before themselves.
