Thank you to Love is for Everyone LGBT Wedding Expo for having #BeingLOVEDIs at the event.
“True hospitality is marked by an open response to the dignity of each and every person. Henri Nouwen has described it as receiving the stranger on his own terms, and asserts that it can be offered only by those who ‘have found the center of their lives in their own hearts’.” -Kathleen Norris
“You couldn’t relive your life, skipping the awful parts, without losing what made it worthwhile. You had to accept it as a whole–like the world, or the person you loved.” Stewart O’Nan
#BeingLOVEDIs feeling appreciated. It is so important to have value in relationships.
#BeingLOVEDIs finding someone who takes a strong interest in who you are now. Not who you used to be. She doesn’t judge my past. Just relishes who I am now.
My favorite photographer Sean Capshaw at Resolusean Photography. He is one of San Diego’s most respected and well know wedding photographers.
One of my favorite trapeze artists came out to be a part of my charity event! Not only did they perform, but they also did my board! I really loved that!
The photos were provided by Sean Capshaw of Resolusean.
What is Christie’s Place? An organization that supports women and children affected by HIV/AIDS.
How did Estes Therapy and #BeingLOVEDIs choose Christie’s Place for the charity event?
This is a cause that has always struck a cord in my heart. A few years ago I created a documentary, “Living Without a Label,” that discussed the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS. During the creation of my documentary I did research and conducted interviews at Christie’s Place. I was touched by the program, the impact they are making and people involved in the program. HIV and AIDS is a scary topic for anyone involved, but it isn’t the end of the line anymore, and you don’t have to be alone.
How much does it cost to get into the event? Do I have to donate? There is a $5 suggested donation at the door and the proceeds will go to the charity . All other donations made for raffles and events through out the evening will go to Christie’s Place. While donations are suggested and encouraged, if you are unable to donate, your attendance at the event to support a great cause is still making a big statement.
What will be happening at the event? This will be a circus celebratory event bringing together an eclectic mix of people in support of a great cause. There will be outdoor aerial performers, fireeaters, jugglers, contortionists and more! At the event you can get involved with the raffles, get dressed up for the photo booth, tell us what you think #BeingLovedIs and even get your relationship fortune read. Come — you won’t regret it!
Where is the event?
Club 1202 in Hillcrest on Friday, January 18th from 10-12am
